Floral delight

I just had the most amazing afternoon playing with flowers. Just down the road from me, Mindy Dalzell of Twig and Arrow, runs workshops out of her Brooklyn studio. This was my first time.

Over the past few years, mucking around with flowers and foliage to dot around my house has become a highlight of my week. So I thought I’d go in search of some tips. And I got plenty.  Most importantly now I know how to fill wide vessels. In my house, I have many. I can’t wait to practice.

One of the things I loved most about the workshop was the variety of arrangements produced. Such different shapes, sizes and colour combinations. All of them absolutely beautiful.

Mine has pride of place smack bang in the middle of the kitchen, right where I can enjoy it the most this week. And I’ve started a new shopping list. Chicken wire is at the top and is tipped to become my new best friend. Have a great week everyone.
